Galungara Public School is setting new benchmarks in smart learning environments. Built using modern off-site construction methods, the school caters to 1,000 students with flexible, technology-driven learning spaces that adapt to evolving educational needs.
Specialized Control Solutions Australia (SCSA) collaborated closely with the builders to design and install advanced building automation solutions, ensuring long-term sustainability and cost savings. A key feature of this system is the integration of carbon dioxide (CO₂) sensors to monitor indoor air quality in classrooms.
Carbon dioxide levels serve as a reliable indicator of indoor air quality. Elevated CO₂ concentrations can lead to decreased cognitive performance and reduced productivity. According to the Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH), maintaining CO₂ levels below 1,000 parts per million (ppm) is recommended to ensure a healthy indoor environment.
By implementing CO₂ monitoring, the school can:
This proactive approach not only promotes a healthier learning environment but also contributes to lower operational costs and a reduced carbon footprint, making Galungara Public School a model for future-ready schools.
At SCSA, we’re proud to contribute to the next generation of smart schools, ensuring sustainability, comfort, and efficiency in every classroom.
